OUR ONLINE CHECKOUT is CLOSED and we are NOT accepting any NEW orders at this time.

We are still fulfilling and shipping previously submitted and/or delayed order requests (as product availability allows) UNTIL NOVEMBER 15th 2022.

But after November 15th, all still pending backordered unshipped items will be automatically CANCELLED **(except for any special ordered drop-shipped or made/machined-to-order items).

Our ability to respond to emails is greatly hampered by being under-staffed during this downsize transition time. But we continue to endeavor to answer email inquiries as best we can. And we will continue responding to emails through until early March 2023 because we are wholly committed to resolving any other issues that may arise from previous sales. It is still UNCERTAIN, but we may re-open a substantially downsized version of our store again in the Spring of 2023.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding during this period of restructuring and/or closing. And a huge thank you to all of you whose support and loyalty we have been the beneficiary of over the 23 years that we have worked diligently to support the information and parts needs of the aircooled VW community!

Steering Damper Bushing, All Models
Steering Damper Bushing, All Models
Price: $5.95

Steering Damper Bushing, All Models is the bushing that is pressed into the arm the steering damper is bolted through. It's responsible for absorbing steering shock, and allowing the parts to pivot and twist during the mechanics of steering.

This part is ALWAYS worn out. It's also inexpensive, but a bad one can cause massive headaches and wear out tie rod ends, not to mention ruin tires.

Coat this with Talcum Powder or Baby Powder and it slips in fairly easily, that won't degrade the rubber like petroleum based lubricants will!

Steering Shaft with Universal Joints, 1971-74 Super Beetle, 113-415-951B
Steering Shaft with Universal Joints, 1971-74 Super Beetle, 113-415-951B
Price: $79.95

Steering Shaft with Universal Joints, 1971-74 Super Beetle, 113-415-951B is beneath the fuel tank, it connects the steering column to the steering box. The needle bearings in the joints get dry, worn, and sloppy, and cause play in your steering.

Replace your shaft if the universal joints are loose. The looseness is caused by the needle bearings wearing out and breaking up and or falling out. The loose steering shaft is not the cause of shaking, it is the result of it! The needle bearings are not greasible, and they get very dry and wear (after all, they ARE 40 years old!). You can easily see the play in the Universal once you remove the fuel tank and play with the steering. This is not the cause of the Super Beetle Shimmy, but this part is commonly dangerously worn out!
