Breather Box Kit, Stand Alone, EACH is a vented box with 4 ports to connect breather hoses to various points on your engine. It's purpose is to ventilate "blow by" to the atmosphere after removing the suspended oil droplets, rather than having it pressurize your engine and leak oil.

Mount the box (cast aluminum, with foam in the box to filter out the oil from the blow-by) on your firewall, and there are 3 hoses to run. Most people run one hose to each valve cover, with the 3rd hose to the oil filler tower or fuel pump block off plate.

The best way to do this is to not use the supplied fittings (they leak), but to run your 3/8" NPT Tap into them, and then install brass or steel barbs or -8 flares on with loctite. Now you have a no-leak system! With the box threaded, you can install 90 Degree fitting THEN the barb or -8 fitting, for a really slick deal.

While most guys run a hose to each valve cover, we have found (thanks to Muffler Mike) that the 3/4 valve cover gets REALLY full of oil on hard runs. So use that to your advantage, and don't bother porting the 3/4 side! Run TWO vents from the 1/2 side to the breather box! This removes another opportunity for oil to make it's way into your breather box, THINK.

Make sure the hoses slope DOWNHILL from the box all the way to the engine that way oil can't "pool up" in the hose, which will cause burping and pressure backup into the case. Sloped hoses will return the oil to the sump where it belongs!

If your engine leaks after this is installed, your engine has something mechanically wrong with it, usually bad rings or a piston.
