OUR ONLINE CHECKOUT is CLOSED and we are NOT accepting any NEW orders at this time.

We are still fulfilling and shipping previously submitted and/or delayed order requests (as product availability allows) UNTIL NOVEMBER 15th 2022.

But after November 15th, all still pending backordered unshipped items will be automatically CANCELLED **(except for any special ordered drop-shipped or made/machined-to-order items).

And we will continue responding to emails through until early March 2023 because we are wholly committed to resolving any other issues that may arise from previous sales. It is still UNCERTAIN, but we may re-open a substantially downsized version of our store again in the Spring of 2023.

Tri Mil Euro 2-Tip Muffler (withOUT pre-heat), for 1966-74 1300-1600cc Based Engines, Beetle and Karmann Ghia - 310220

Tri Mil Euro 2-Tip Muffler, 1966-74 1300-1600cc Based Engines, Beetle and Karmann Ghia
Black version shown in first picture. Note that there is room for Filter Pump Oil Pumps with this muffler!

Tri Mil Euro 2-Tip Muffler, 1966-74 1300-1600cc Based Engines, Beetle and Karmann Ghia is a fantastic header and muffler in one unit, that exits the stock pea shooter cutouts! Healthy, throaty sound, flows as well as single quiet packs too! MADE IN THE USA! T ACN Recommended for applications that do NOT need pre-heat.

This muffler has 5/16" thick flanges, it's mandrel bent, and MIG Welded from 16ga 1 1/2" mild steel tubing to a 4" formed internally baffled muffler body, on a jig to ensure fitment with NO LEAKS for optimum quality and performance! This muffler is designed to work with stock heater boxes, or replacement J-pipes. This muffler has just been re-designed with wider #2 and #4 Primary Tubes for Heater Hose Clearance (no more burned hoses!), and to fit aftermarket and stock rear aprons on stock or lowered cars!

If you get the "Black/Raw" version of this, know that the paint will burn off in under an hour of run time. The ceramic version will keep it's good looks longer. But that said, Ceramic Coating is a life EXTENDER, not a lifetime coating. In other words, you should expect the coating to make the pipes last longer than normal but don't expect the coating to be shiny or to last forever. Normal lifespan varies according to where you live and if you drive the car in the winter in the salt zones. Salt zone, daily driver summer and winter the systems should last about 4 to 5 years normally.Sound; this header/muffler is NOT a quiet muffler. It's about equivalent to a "Glass Pack" but with an entirely deeper tone. Quiet Pack or Hideaway mufflers are much quieter than this style of Muffler.
Note that filter/pump oil pumps (oil pumps with a spin on filter) will clear this muffler with room to spare!
We recommend the Tri-Mil Euro 2-Tip for applications up to 90hp, at which point restriction causes tuning difficulty and engine temperatures to rise. For applications over 90, get a 4-1 header OR look closely at the Vintage Speed Twin Tip Mufflers. This is an awesome upgrade for "mild" engines, but due to the fact that it does NOT have preheat flanges, it can only recommend this for engines with dual carburetors.
Be aware there are Chinese COPIES of this muffler being sold, we've seen those blow the exhaust packing out in 30 minutes of run time, obviously NOT of the same fitment nor quality as this Genuine Tri-Mil Version.

This is an excellent choice for engines up to 90-100hp, beyond that we recommend the Vintage Speed dual pea shooter outlet mufflers, in 125 and 150hp versions.

5 of 5 ceramic coating May 7, 2020
Reviewer: Alex Peterson from Marietta, GA United States
i have had the ceramic coated version  on my car for 6 years and the best looking part  now is the coated tubes (tips were chrome on this one and are very rusty now). i just got my second one and the price for ceramic had doubled but, this one has the ceramic coating all the way out to the end of the tips and i think it will look better much longer than the first one

4 of 5 Tri Mil Exhaust June 21, 2013
Reviewer: Daniel from Portland, OR United States
Fit was perfect and I certainly dig the fact that it sticks with the stock configuration.  After sitting quiet for so long, the engine springing to life with the Tri Mil connected was a little overwhelming, but I think I have adapted...  It is not really THAT loud after all (it sounds sufficiently mean though!)

My one complaint is the paint on the muffler promptly burned off leaving it a bit ugly...  isn't there sufficient heat resistant paint that could have been used?  Maybe the ceramic coated one is the way to go.

5 of 5 Tri Mil "Hotdog" Muffler June 7, 2013

Great muffler!  Fit and quality is excellent.  It sounds great,  maybe a little louder than a quiet-pack but not bad at all.  Highly recommend.

5 of 5 Relishing the Hotdogs April 22, 2013

I wanted something other than the puny peashooters sticking out the back end. Well that and it was a holy mess.  All I can say is WOW.  Fit right up with no issues. And boy do they look and sound good. I am not sure exactly which I like more. The deep throaty grumble, or the extra kick in performance that these give my stock 1600DP.  Either way they both put a smile on my face.  The sound isn't as loud as my leaky stock setup, but as I said before, BOY THEY SOUND GOOD.  It's like slapping a set of headers running duals all they way out the back on a V8.  Good stuff.

5 of 5 Tri-Mill dual exhaust August 25, 2012
Reviewer: Jay from Longview, WA United States
Got the painted one for my '75 Super.  I bought a "turn key" 1915cc motor with dual 35mm Solex PDSIT's and I decided I wanted a "dual exhaust look". All I needed was a set of heater boxes from a  '74 or earlier car and a little sheet metal cutting and it worked like a charm.
It's not "horrendously" loud but it's definitely a bit louder then the stock exhaust.
