Stock springs are 30-40 years old, and most are worn out and sagging very badly. With numerous requests for a stock height spring, this is the result! Many people are not aware that the convertible super beetle had stiffer springs than the sedan did, due to the additional weight of the hefty convertible top, and the body reinforcement that was installed to withstand the missing roof. So for years a solution was to put convertible springs onto a sedan, to get a slight lift for off road use (Baja). Even though the super beetle is not the sturdiest design, it is still somewhat capable if you don't hammer on it like an off road race car with jumps, etc

So a new spring was needed, and was made to simulate the convertible spring, but with the additional feature of a dual taper for tire and rim clearance. These Rally Springs are the result of that effort, and now they are available to you! They provide a smooth ride, AND give more tire clearance too! These are a HUGE improvement over stock VW Superbeetle springs.

These are designed to be interchangeable with your stock Super Beetle springs, but with some performance enhancements.

First, there should be a 1" lifting effect on the front end ride height. The exact amount of lift will depend on the condition of your old springs, but normally you will see ~3/4 - 1" of lift, but sometimes up to 3" if the stock springs were completely shot, which is not uncommon

Note the tapered design which gives extra clearance for wider wheels and tires, while still fitting the stock spring holders! The springs give more usable wheel travel than the stock springs, by having the non-functional progression of the stock spring removed, and then increasing the spring rate about 10% over the stock spring.

If you combine this spring with the additional 1/2-1" lift of a gas strut insert, you will have even more lift! This is the sort of modification for more serious off road use, but a lot of customers use these when adding a battery bank into the trunk in their electric car conversions, OR if they are installing a radiator in front when putting in a subaru or other water cooled engine.
