Quality Parts and Tech Info for Classic Aircooled Volkswagen Enthusiasts
We are in the midst of renovating our site!
Our online store will re-open on WEDNESDAY AUGUST 12th with some exciting updates and improvements to your parts shopping experience.
If you already have an order in process with us, don't panic!
We are still processing and shipping orders from our warehouse as normal even while our site is offline.
We sincerely appreciate your patience while we are doing these site upgrades.
OUR ONLINE CHECKOUT is CLOSED and we are NOT accepting any NEW orders at this time.
We are still fulfilling and shipping previously submitted and/or delayed order requests (as product availability allows) UNTIL NOVEMBER 15th 2022.
But after November 15th, all still pending backordered unshipped items will be automatically CANCELLED **(except for any special ordered drop-shipped or made/machined-to-order items).
Our ability to respond to emails is greatly hampered by being under-staffed during this downsize transition time. But we continue to endeavor to answer email inquiries as best we can. And we will continue responding to emails through until early March 2023 because we are wholly committed to resolving any other issues that may arise from previous sales. It is still UNCERTAIN, but we may re-open a substantially downsized version of our store again in the Spring of 2023.
We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding during this period of restructuring and/or closing. And a huge thank you to all of you whose support and loyalty we have been the beneficiary of over the 23 years that we have worked diligently to support the information and parts needs of the aircooled VW community!
NOTICE
**UPDATE*** WE ARE NO LONGER KEEPING LONG TERM BACKORDERS OPEN FOR LATER FULFILLMENT!! *** Supply-chain disruptions have hampered our ability to acquire/restock items reliably, and a lack of backorder ETA information is the frustrating "new normal" for our hobby. As a result, we have had to change our BACKORDER FULFILLMENT PROCEDURES. We are now only fulfilling order requests only for items that we have in stock OR that we know can be acquired within a defined timeframe. Items that are not expected to be restocked within 2 weeks WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED. Made-to-order, Special-Order, and Direct-shipped items with longer advertised manufacture and/or fulfillment lead times will NOT be auto-canceled, and will be fulfilled in the longer, as-advertised timeframe.
PLEASE NOTE: You are NOT CHARGED for out-of-stock items. We ONLY charge for items that are available to be shipped in a timely or reasonably reliable timeframe. You can email to cancel un-shipped/un-paid items at any time as long as they are not direct-shipped, special order or made/machined-to-order.
Currently our response time to emails is slow (we are severely short-staffed). Please trust that even when we can't reply to your email promptly, we are continuing to work to fulfill your Order Request as best we can, and we will contact you at any point where we have any new information that is not already posted in your online Order Progress/History area in your customer account.
AIRCOOLED.NET IS DOWNSIZING. On November 1st, our online store will be taken OFFLINE for several months while we relocate to a different facility and undergo a "restructuring" of the company in the hope our business will be able to recover from the challenges and setbacks we have faced these past two unusual years. It is our intention to re-open on or around FEBRUARY 15th with a new website. /h3>
Please only continue if you are prepared to be PATIENT. We appreciate your continued support and understanding.

i have had the ceramic coated version on my car for 6 years and the best looking part now is the coated tubes (tips were chrome on this one and are very rusty now). i just got my second one and the price for ceramic had doubled but, this one has the ceramic coating all the way out to the end of the tips and i think it will look better much longer than the first one

Tri Mil Exhaust

Fit was perfect and I certainly dig the fact that it sticks with the stock configuration. After sitting quiet for so long, the engine springing to life with the Tri Mil connected was a little overwhelming, but I think I have adapted... It is not really THAT loud after all (it sounds sufficiently mean though!)
My one complaint is the paint on the muffler promptly burned off leaving it a bit ugly... isn't there sufficient heat resistant paint that could have been used? Maybe the ceramic coated one is the way to go.

Great muffler! Fit and quality is excellent. It sounds great, maybe a little louder than a quiet-pack but not bad at all. Highly recommend.

Relishing the Hotdogs

I wanted something other than the puny peashooters sticking out the back end. Well that and it was a holy mess. All I can say is WOW. Fit right up with no issues. And boy do they look and sound good. I am not sure exactly which I like more. The deep throaty grumble, or the extra kick in performance that these give my stock 1600DP. Either way they both put a smile on my face. The sound isn't as loud as my leaky stock setup, but as I said before, BOY THEY SOUND GOOD. It's like slapping a set of headers running duals all they way out the back on a V8. Good stuff.

Tri-Mill dual exhaust

Got the painted one for my '75 Super. I bought a "turn key" 1915cc motor with dual 35mm Solex PDSIT's and I decided I wanted a "dual exhaust look". All I needed was a set of heater boxes from a '74 or earlier car and a little sheet metal cutting and it worked like a charm. It's not "horrendously" loud but it's definitely a bit louder then the stock exhaust.
