SCAT 4340 5.394" (5.400") H-Beam Connecting Rods, Type 1 Journals, 3/8" ARP 2000 Bolts, Balanced, Set of 4, 102502-3 are the finest non-Carrillo Connecting Rods available for your VW Engine. These are stock length rods for most VW Engine Builds The strength and quality of these rods are an incredible value!
The 5.394" is the stock length, and is designed to match 69mm crankshafts and "A" pistons, and 82mm crankshafts and "B" pistons. You can also use these on perfect size for 74mm and 76mm stroke cranks with "A" pistons with cylinder spacers of around .100"). These are also used with 84mm crankshafts and B Pistons with a small spacer. It is true you can get a "nicer" rod with a Titanium Rod, or a Genuine Carrillo, but for VW specific applications, the SCAT is the best, for only $50 more than "lesser" rod choices.
The 3/8" ARP 2000 Rod Bolt is VERY strong, the strongest rod bolt that is available for our Aircooled VW Engines.
SCAT Connecting Rods are some of the finest available. The rod cap is precision dowel-pinned for alignment that will not change after disassembly. The rod cap and bearing will ALWAYS line up 100% like it did for the rod honing operation at the machine shop!
