OUR ONLINE CHECKOUT is CLOSED and we are NOT accepting any NEW orders at this time.

We are still fulfilling and shipping previously submitted and/or delayed order requests (as product availability allows) UNTIL NOVEMBER 15th 2022.

But after November 15th, all still pending backordered unshipped items will be automatically CANCELLED **(except for any special ordered drop-shipped or made/machined-to-order items).

Our ability to respond to emails is greatly hampered by being under-staffed during this downsize transition time. But we continue to endeavor to answer email inquiries as best we can. And we will continue responding to emails through until early March 2023 because we are wholly committed to resolving any other issues that may arise from previous sales. It is still UNCERTAIN, but we may re-open a substantially downsized version of our store again in the Spring of 2023.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding during this period of restructuring and/or closing. And a huge thank you to all of you whose support and loyalty we have been the beneficiary of over the 23 years that we have worked diligently to support the information and parts needs of the aircooled VW community!

Heavy Duty Valve Spring Removal Tool (Valve Spring Compressor), Type 1 Based Engines, Purchase
Heavy Duty Valve Spring Removal Tool (Valve Spring Compressor), Type 1 Based Engines, Purchase
Both sizes of inserts are shown in photo, but only ONE insert size is included in the base price. Or you can upgrade to have both sizes included.

Heavy Duty Valve Spring Removal Tool (Valve Spring Compressor), Type 1 Based Engines, Purchase is a professional grade tool which allows you to remove the valve springs WITHOUT engine dis-assembly or removal! Capable of removing stock or HD valve springs, without removing the engine (Engine still in the car!). This can really save your bacon! This tool comes with the Rocker Shaft, Leverage Tool, and a either a 12mm or 14mm (you choose the size) Spark Plug insert (to pressurize with air). The new version of this tool is machined for a 3/8" Square drive, so you use your ratchet as the "Lever" to compress the spring, and to get the optimal angle to compress and hold the spring while you work.

Simply remove spark plug, insert air tool and maintain air pressure OR run string or electrical wire into the plug hole, and move the piston back to TDC, which holds the valves closed. Now you can use the tool to compress the spring, and remove the valve keepers and retainer, and it's all apart! It is compatible with all Type 1, 2, and 3 engines.

This is an improved Heavy Duty version which will do Chevy K-800 springs.

This is also a great tool to use when breaking in your camshaft on HD Single Springs, then converting back to Dual Springs after the cam is safe!

When ordering, select the plug thread size you have to receive the proper air chuck adapter for your heads. If you have multiple sets of heads (or are a tool "Junkie"), then get both 12 and 14mm for a small surcharge.

A tool that is a necessity for anyone who works on their own vw. Worked great! Fits right on the rocker arm studs even with the motor still in the car, just pull the valve cover, remove two nuts that hold the rocker shaft on and replace with this tool. Simple as that! The fitting that comes with it threads into the spark plug hole with ease and even has a o-ring so air willn't leak out. Top notch! Definitely recommend.
