OUR ONLINE CHECKOUT is CLOSED and we are NOT accepting any NEW orders at this time.

We are still fulfilling and shipping previously submitted and/or delayed order requests (as product availability allows) UNTIL NOVEMBER 15th 2022.

But after November 15th, all still pending backordered unshipped items will be automatically CANCELLED **(except for any special ordered drop-shipped or made/machined-to-order items).

Our ability to respond to emails is greatly hampered by being under-staffed during this downsize transition time. But we continue to endeavor to answer email inquiries as best we can. And we will continue responding to emails through until early March 2023 because we are wholly committed to resolving any other issues that may arise from previous sales. It is still UNCERTAIN, but we may re-open a substantially downsized version of our store again in the Spring of 2023.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding during this period of restructuring and/or closing. And a huge thank you to all of you whose support and loyalty we have been the beneficiary of over the 23 years that we have worked diligently to support the information and parts needs of the aircooled VW community!

200mm Kennedy Engineering Racing Pressure Plates, Early & Late
200mm Kennedy Engineering Racing Pressure Plates, Early & Late. KEP Pressure plate
Product photos show "early" style of pressure plate, with throw out bearing collar installed; and "late" style without bearing collar.

200mm Kennedy Engineering Racing Pressure Plates are built from BRAND NEW parts, not from cores! These are available to fit both early and late style volkswagen transaxles. The race-quality units are balanced to within .4oz/inch. They are 100% load tested adn assembled on a jig for consistent quality. The clutch contact face is high tensile cast iron alloy for strength and stability.

Choose from 4 different pressures for a variety of applications.

1700lb/Stage 1 will handle almost any street VW, these will handle 180lb/ft of torque.

2100/Stage 2 works great in applications where the driver is determined to either win or break something; these will handle 220lb/ft of torque.

2600lb/Stage 3 will hold 260lb/ft of torque (no VW does this unless it's boosted/NOS).

3000lb/Stage 4 holds 300lbs/ft, they grenade VW Transaxles.

KEP Pressure plates are the best clutches to use on your volkswagen beetle, for your sand car, dune buggy, or your hot street car. They work great for vw busses too!

For reference, my beetle runs mid 112s in the 1/4 mile and I run a Stage 1 so I'm not changing transaxles every dozen passes!

"Early" are Transaxles up to 1970, they are identified with the throwout bearing that has clips that fall out.

"Late" are for 1971 and newer, the clips are built into the T/O bearing. We prefer the late style, the bearing slides on a collar and is more stable and less prone to trouble!
