These inexpensive "Lantern Style" fuel filters are good for your VW Bug. We typically use more than one, one under the fuel tank as a Pre-Filter, and one next to the transaxle. The best locations for a fuel filter are beneath the fuel tank (between the tank and chassis), and again next to the transaxle (between the chassis and engine)These filters use a stepped inlet and outlet, fitting both 5mm and 7mm hoses.
