Note that these fit IRS Type 1s. That means they also fit North American Auto-Sticks from 1968, since they had IRS rears a year earlier than the 4 speeds did! And, many European and Mexican Beetles had Swing Axles well after 1969, so it's best to verify you have IRS rather than buying these based on the year of your car.

But it's important to know that this axle comes with "Economy" CV Joints and boots. The best job is achieved if you buy German or European parts, and rebuild your current axles. The "Economy" parts are good for guys that want to get the parts replaced quickly, and they can take their time using the good parts for a proper rebuild, for long term axles.
