These ONLY fit late tie rod ends! You can use these on early cars with the smaller tie rod ends, but you'll need 2 new tie rod ends to match the newly inserted bushings. An example of a car that has a "problem" is when the car is extremely lowered, and now the outer tie rods sit higher than the pitman arm on the steering box (inner tie rods). Using this kit, you relocate the outer arms to insert into the spindle from BELOW, rather than above, and this restores the tie rod angle that is necessary for the steering to work properly.

Tapered Super Beetle Strut Springs, Pair, 87-0308 are a huge improvement compared to anything else! Tapered design gives more clearance for wider wheels and tires. Progressive spring rate prevents bottoming, while actually providing a slight lowering too!When you lower a VW Superbeetle, your available wheel travel is reduced by the amount you lowered it. If you use the stock spring, you WILL bottom out. These stiffer springs prevent that and while providing a smooth ride, AND give more tire clearance too! These are a HUGE improvement over stock VW Superbeetle springs. These are designed to be interchangeable with your stock Super Beetle springs, but with some performance enhancements. First, there should be a slight lowering effect on the front end ride height. The exact amount of lowering will depend on the condition of your old springs, but normally you will see ~3/4 - 1" of lowering, but even up to 1 1/2" on heavier convertibles. Note the tapered design which gives extra clearance for wider wheels and tires, while still fitting the stock spring holders! The springs give more usable wheel travel than the stock springs, by having the non-functional progression of the stock spring removed, and then increasing the spring rate about 10% over the stock spring. This spring is very streetable, and we actually feel this is the spring the cars should have come with when they were new!
