No low end parts in this beast! We can build this mild for the widest possible power band and virtually stock reliability, or more radical for "Weekend Warrior" configuration. This long block is a far nicer engine that the "Magazine Engines" you see for sale for seemingly incredible prices. These long blocks will fit all cars, but the are a direct bolt-in to 1971 and newer Beetles and Ghias, 1971 T-2s, and 1967 and newer T-3s. We only offer these in Dual Port, so make sure you have the correct tin and intake manifold(s). These engines offer a substantial increase in torque (GRUNT!) over stock stroke engines. All our Piston and Cylinder choices use the thickest cylinder walls available, we do NOT use "Slip In" piston sets under any circumstances! This is a really solid, mild performance engine that you want to build but don't have the time, knowledge, or special tools! We only offer solid lifters, we do not sell, use, nor recommend hydraulic lifters.
You will need a 1 1/2, or better yet a 1 5/8" exhaust to work with the L5 heads. 1 5/8" to work with the L6 heads, and 1 3/4" for the L7s or L8 heads.
We recommend 1.1 or 1.25 rockers with the L5s, and 1.3s or 1.4s to take advantage of the flow #s of the L6-L8 heads.

NEW MEANS NEW! Our new engines have NEW parts. Other "new" longblocks you might be looking at are actually "Rebuilt" and those often contain a lot of used parts. "Rebuilt" is subject to some creative Interpretation, and some rebuilders will even go so far as to sell you a "re-assembled" engine, so watch out! Those low budget "Rebuilders" get used parts, clean, paint, install, then call it "Rebuilt", to sell to customer! The only REBUILT component that we might have occasion to use on our longblocks are the top quality DPR Rebuilt German crankshafts, Flywheels, and/or Connecting Rods. Rebuilt components, if used, are done to race specification for the smoothest and most reliable engine possible.

SHIPPING/DELIVERY INFO: DELIVERY OF LONGBLOCKS IS VIA TRUCK FREIGHT. Be aware that trucking companies do NOT like driving into residential neighborhoods, and they charge a hefty surcharge for both residential and rural delivery. We strongly suggest you you instruct us to mark your shipment "HOLD FOR PICKUP AT TERMINAL", as that is typically the most economical option. But be advised that if you do not live in or near a major metropolitan area, it is not uncommon for you to have to drive many miles to get to the nearest freight terminal. We are not responsible for any drive you may have to make to P/U your engine. Another alternative is to specify delivery to a commercial/business address (which will typically save you around $100 in freight surcharges), but the headache with this option is that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO BE PRESENT AT TIME OF DELIVERY in order to ensure that proper inspection is done prior to signing for acceptance of your longblock (once you sign, any carrier damage to the product is NOT covered by warranty!!).
