5 of 5 No more 009 flat spot! May 8, 2018

After installing an exhaust on my bug, I all of a sudden had terrible lag on take off, making my bug undriveable. I was going to re jet my 34 pict 3, but an SVDA was recommended by John at aircooled.net- and I took a chance on this economy model.  I replaced the cap and rotor with Bosch parts, and the points with electronic ignition. Timed it at 7.5 BTDC at idle, and it runs great now.

Out of the box, distributor looked well made and clean. On further inspection, the inner alignment tab on the rotor was broken off/ poorly molded, and points looked a little cheap. No worries, i replaced the cap, rotor and points with the mostly new Bosch units from my 009. The distributor itself looks well manufactured and assembled. Installed and running in less than 20 minutes. The difference from the 009 is night and day. Smooth, crisp power from idle, engine is running cooler, ill have to check my gas mileage after i fill my tank.
