When you place an online order request, you can opt to have in-stock items processed for shipment in advance of any backordered items. For out of stock items, you are NOT CHARGED, you are automatically added to the reservation waitlist, and we post stock status / backorder info to your Order Status/History Detail View in your online Customer Account. You can email to cancel un-shipped/un-paid items at any time as long as they are not special order or made/machined-to-order.

Please only continue if you are prepared to be PATIENT. Requested items could be delayed by supplier-level backorder, and we usually aren't given reliable ETA information. We work diligently to source and fulfill your request for items as best we can.

OEM Magnesium Super Case, 85.5/90.5/92/94mm Bore


 
This OEM VW Magnesium Super Case for Type 1 based engines is built with performance in mind! Starting with an OEM Case, it's Clearanced for 84mm Stroke, Bored for P&Cs, and drilled/tapped for Full Flow too! Only available in 8mm Head Stud Size.

Has drilled/tapped bosses in rear for 68-71 Bus, and Type 3s with Rear Mount.

It's important to note that these cases are ~20lbs lighter than an aluminum case. You don't realize how much that is until you pick one up!

Also, other vendors will not tell you this, but Aluminum Cases will run around 20F hotter oil temps than the same engine using a Magnesium case, so this will run cooler.

Besides the oil temps, the weight IS an issue if you have a Auto-X or Hill Climb car, putting an extra 20lbs in the worst possible place is something you should consider (do you REALLY need an Aluminum case?). ACN argues that you do not NEED an Aluminum case until you are well over 250hp if aspirated, and over 300hp if turbocharged, which most of you guys are not.

You can use this in Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 applications.
