Tri Mil Euro 2-Tip Muffler, VW THING (And Baja Bugs!) Exiting Through Stock Bumper Holes

Tri Mil Euro 2-Tip Muffler, VW THING (And Baja Bugs!) Exiting Through Stock Bumper Holes
Ceramic version shown in first picture. Note that there is room for Filter Pump Oil Pumps with this muffler!

Tri Mil Euro 2-Tip Muffler, VW THING (And Baja Bugs!) Exiting Through Stock Bumper Holes is a fantastic header and muffler in one unit, that exits the stock holes in the rear bumper! Healthy, throaty sound, flows as well as dual quiet packs too! ACN Recommended! Healthy, deep, throaty performance sound, flows as well as dual quiet packs too! ACN Recommended! MADE IN THE USA! It has 5/16" Thick flanges, and uses 1 1/2" 16ga mild steel tubing to a 4" internally baffled formed muffler body, on a jig to ensure fitment with NO LEAKS for optimum quality and performance! This muffler is designed to work with stock heater boxes, or replacement J-pipes. Do not settle for a copy of this Genuine Tri-Mil Muffler!

If you get the "Black/Raw" version of this, know that the paint will burn off in under an hour of run time. The ceramic version will keep it's good looks for far longer.

There are some guys who run this muffler because of it's stellar ground clearance, on their Off Road Baja Bugs. It works well with baja rear fenders. If the car has full fenders, a cutout allows the tailpipe to clear the fenderwork! You do NOT need to remove the rear bumper to install this exhaust, but you do need to remove the rear bumper to put the engine in and out, with the exhaust tips OFF. Install the tips after the engine is back in.
This is an awesome upgrade for "mild" engines. We mainly recommend this model for engines with dual carburetors.

Ceramic Coating is a life EXTENDER, not a lifetime coating. In other words, you should expect the coating to make the pipes last longer than normal but don't expect the coating to be shiny or to last forever. Normal lifespan varies according to where you live and if you drive the car in the winter in the salt zones. Salt zone, daily driver summer and winter the systems should last about 4 to 5 years normally.

5 of 5 Couldn't be happier! March 2, 2012
Reviewer: Antonio Molinar from Middletown, CA United States
Last year I purchased a "Divided Header Exhaust System for my 1973 VW Thing from a Thing shop in Arizona. I had problems from the beginning, e.g., the mounting brackets had to be modified, the mufflers covered my valve covers, a weld broke loose, and worst of all, the car sounded like an unbaffled  Harley-Davidson motorcyle! After almost one year I had had enough. I saw many complaints about different after-market exhaust systems for the Thing and the only positive thing that  was being said was about the "Tri-Mil" muffler. With a little web surfing I discovered that aircooled.net  had the muffler in stock and ready for immediate delivery.  It was delivered within 48 hours! Talk about service! It took less than an hour to install with no hangups. The sound is deep and throaty (not annoying) and my mechanic can now get to my valve covers without having to remove the entire muffler system. Anyone who has a VW Thing, I strongly recommend aircooled.net and the Tri-Mil "Hot Dog" muffler.
