We are still fulfilling and shipping previously submitted and/or delayed order requests (as product availability allows) UNTIL NOVEMBER 15th 2022.

But after November 15th, all still pending backordered unshipped items will be automatically CANCELLED **(except for any special ordered drop-shipped or made/machined-to-order items).

Our ability to respond to emails is greatly hampered by being under-staffed during this downsize transition time. But we continue to endeavor to answer email inquiries as best we can. And we will continue responding to emails through until early March 2023 because we are wholly committed to resolving any other issues that may arise from previous sales. It is still UNCERTAIN, but we may re-open a substantially downsized version of our store again in the Spring of 2023.

PLEASE NOTE: You are NOT CHARGED for out-of-stock items. We ONLY charge for items that are available to be shipped in a timely or reasonably reliable timeframe. You can email to cancel un-shipped/un-paid items at any time as long as they are not direct-shipped, special order or made/machined-to-order.

Currently our response time to emails is slow (we are severely short-staffed). AIRCOOLED.NET IS DOWNSIZING. Be sure they are well greased up during installation. THING Springs are stiffer than Beetle and Ghia leafs, so don't make the mistake of ordering the regular Beetle and Ghia ones if you have a Type 181!

If you have an off-road car with a BJ Front End, you can also use these to prevent premature bottoming out in the rough stuff!

2" Narrowed Axle Beam (Adjustable), 1966-77 Ball Joint Type 1, 6277 is a new VW axle beam MADE IN THE USA! 2" Narrowed is used to provide tire to fender clearance, since so many of you guys are running wider rims and tires, and/or using disc brakes which can kick the wheels outboard! Each beam is Jig Assembled and MIG-welded to insure a perfect fit and a lifetime of reliability. OEM needle bearings are used at the torsion arm end for long lasting support and ease of movement through the entire range of travel. The inner bushings are made of tough wear-resistant Delrin. This beam measures 32" from end of tube to end of tube.

Note on the position of the Avis Adjusters; When they are set in the highest "up" position, that is equal to stock height of a stock unmodified axle beam. When they are all the way in the "Lowered" position, that is equal to a 3 1/2" drop.
