These fit the holes fo the door panel clips to fit into, and also for the exterior Chrome Molding clips to fit into (on 1952-66 Beetles).

It also should be mentioned that these are a BEAR to get in and out, so much so that we rent a hinge pin press to do this job on the car with minimal damage. We've been working on these cars for over 30 years, and replacing hinge pins has always been a job you avoided because it is so difficult! But the press makes the job simple and easy!
