All Steel hold down latches are excellent for securing hoods, tool boxes, emergency kits, etc. Tough Spring Loaded construction, with a decent chrome finish. Not Cheapies! Just bolt or rivet the catch and the handle, ensuring proper preload for the spring.
Alternative uses are for tool boxes, emergency kits, etc. Some guys in Class 11 also use these to keep the deck lid closed off road! These metal ones are better than the rubber ones in that they will not degrade over time (ROT).
