CV Joint Grease, 3oz Packet, EACH is specifically made for CV Joints. CV Grease has Molybdenum Disulfide in it, and it "flows" a certain way at the temperatures that CV Joints operate at, and this keeps the wear areas properly protected. The "Drop Point" of CV Grease is around 380F, which is too low for wheel bearings, but this low temperature allows it to flow well inside the CV Joint!

You want to put a lot of grease in the CV Joint and CV Boot. Not so much that the CV Boot bulges, because if you overfill it will eventually expand and leak. But you do want a lot of grease on the boot side of the joint, which prevents the grease inside of the joint from pushing out as the joint flexes. One boot will typically need between 3 to 4 oz.

IMPORTANT: CV Grease is heavy in metals, IE: Lead, Molybdenum, graphite, etc. You absolutely should ALWAYS wear gloves, and don't let the grease contact your skin!

CV Joint Bolt, 8 x 1.25 x 45mm, LOCKING, Type 1, 2, and 3, 8mm 12pt Head, Set of 12 (Does one axle), 8320 is an incredible product to prevent CV Bolt loosening, which is a common and messy problem! Instead of thread locker, have a true locking fastener! 12pt head is small and gives you a lot of room for the socket, and there is a large flange beneath the head to spread the clamping load. Once the bolts are tight, you simply slip on the locking tab into a location to prevent the bolt from any loosening, then secure it with the included snap ring (small tipped snap ring pliars will be needed).

There is no longer any chance of the bolt loosening or coming off, which can be a major hassle on the road or out on the dunes! This is also a fantastic product for off road cars, where the constant pounding knocks CV Joint Bolts loose regularly!

We sell these in packs of 12 units, which will do 2 CV Joints (One Axle Shaft, both ends). You'll need 2 of these to do one car.

CV Joint Conversion Drive Flanges, Type 2 CV Joints on Type 1 IRS Transmission, 16-2299-0 are necessary when upgrading your suspension to larger and stronger Type 2 CV joints, which are about 2x as strong as the type 1 versions! This includes 2 flanges to do 1 transaxle. You can just change the inboard CVs with these flanges, or complete the conversion to 4 Type 2 CVs by finding some THING Stub Axles, which use Type 2 CVs. They are a straight bolt-in replacement of the stock type 1 stub axles.

These flanges fit the 33 spline Trunion Shaft on stock Type 1s. They have a 36mm nose which slips into the stock Output Shaft Seal. These flanges also use the stock 8 x 1.25mm CV Joint Bolts you probably already have!
