Also, this fits only fits T1 based MAGNESIUM cases, IT DOES NOT FIT ALUMINUM CASES! Aluminum cases have a rounded top which interferes with the seating of the billet aluminum clamps.

MSD CDI Ignition Box (Capacitive Discharge Ignition), Basic Unit, Digital Ignition, MSD6201 is basically a device that charges your coil with 400V instead of the measly 12 it normally gets. This results in a bigger spark!

This MSD unit is a direct replacement for Mallory Hyfire VI-A (Hyfire 6-A) PN 6852M (MSD recently bought out Mallory).

With this Capacitive Discharge (CD) system, you will have a stable, uniform spark throughout your engine's rpm range, with no high rpm drop-off like other boxes, or with a standard Kettering Ignition (Points and Condenser, or Points Replacement Device charging the coil with 12 Volts.

This is the basic box, with no programmable rev limiters or 2-step devices, but the spark is identical.

This is compatible with most electronic and magnetic trigger systems.

You must have good quality plug wires, the high energy spark will push them to the limit!

During installation, we recommend you install a 20A fuse between the battery and the CDI unit, and wire the Ground directly to the battery for best results.
