DPR Type 4 Crankshaft, 71mm Stroke, Rebuilt, 2.0L Journal is the finest "stock" crankshaft available. Re-ground from OE forged German crankshaft cores, these always spec out PERFECT, which is not true of most other crankshafts. While many other cranks are "new" they often have problems with journal sizing, journal taper, balance, etc. If you want the best, we STRONGLY recommend these crankshafts for your stock or close to stock engine build! For higher RPM applications, or for substantial power increases, get a counter weighted crankshaft instead!

While on the surface it doesn't make sense to get a "Used" crankshaft as opposed to a new Chinese one, here is why! The stock VW German OEM crankshaft is the finest crank ever produced for the VW engine. The alloy and manufacturing process is superior to all other cranks produced in Brazil, Mexico or China. So the German Crankshafts are the foundation used on all DPR produced crankshafts.
