NOTICE

Please read this notice and only continue if you are willing to abide by our updated backorder acquisition and fulfillment terms of service.

Supply-chain disruptions have hampered our ability to acquire/restock items reliably. Additionally, a lack of backorder ETA information is a frustrating "new normal" for our hobby. As a result, we have had to change our BACKORDER ACQUISITION TERMS OF SERVICE. If you opt to have us "send backorders later", backordered items will ship automatically within 30 days IF we are able to get them. Longer than 30 day backorders WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED. Made-to-order, Special-Order, and Direct-shipped items may take longer than 30 days, and will NOT be auto-canceled.

On the next page, you will be prompted to select a BACKORDER HANDLING INSTRUCTION for your Order Request. In every case, you are NOT CHARGED for out-of-stock items (we ONLY charge for items that are available to be shipped in a timely or reasonably reliable timeframe). If you opt to "send backorders later" you are automatically added to the waitlist for those items, and we post stock status / backorder info to your Order Status/Progress/History Detail View in your online Customer Account. You can email to cancel un-shipped/un-paid items at any time as long as they are not direct-shipped, special order or made/machined-to-order.

Currently many shipments are delayed and our response time to emails are slow (we are severely short-staffed). Please trust that even if we can't reply to your email promptly, we are continuing to work to fulfill your Order Request as best we can, and we will contact you once we have any new information that is not already posted in your online Order Progress/History area in your customer account.

Please only continue if you are prepared to be PATIENT. Some of the items in your cart might be out-of-stock, and if that is the case, within a day or two we will post itemized stock status information to your account and/or email you to let you know. We appreciate your continued support and understanding.

Vintage Speed Stainless Steel Super Flow Muffler (Up to 150hp) for Type 1 Engine in 1966-74 Beetle, Super Beetle, and Ghia, 155-203-052SF

Vintage Speed Stainless Steel Super Flow Muffler (Up to 150hp) for Type 1 Engine in 1966-74 Beetle, Super Beetle, and Ghia, 155-203-052SF

Vintage Speed Stainless Steel Super Flow Muffler (Up to 150hp) for Type 1 Engine in 1966-74 Beetle, Super Beetle, and Ghia, 155-203-052SF is the finest "Pea Shooter" exhaust available for your VW Beetle or Ghia! This model exits the pea shooters like stock, in the stock Rear Apron Cutouts on 1955+ carbureted models! This is a 1 1/2" (38mm) exhaust system, which is a HUGE upgrade from the stock 1 1/4" (32mm) system. 150hp model is louder but better flowing than 125hp version. This is called the "Heater Style" muffler because it is designed to retain the stock or 1 1/2" (38mm) heater boxes!

Where do we start???? This muffler has adjustable flanges so you can accommodate wider or narrower engines (Strokers?) It's built from 100% #304 stainless steel, the whole thing! Muffler, Tail Pipes (Pea Shooters), Header Pipes, even the M18x1.5mm O2 Sensor Bung is 304 Stainless! This allows you an easy headache free connection for your Wide-band, or for Closed-Loop operation of your Fuel Injection System!

As if that wasn't enough, the #2 and #4 Primary Tubes are Wrapped in Fire Braid to protect your heater hoses that run close to these pipes (and often get burned up on conventional headers).

Optional Pre-heat flanges actually work unlike most aftermarket headers! This is done with Positive and Negative Scoops as seen in the detailed photo. Choose the Pre-heat Option if you are using a Center Mount Carburetor System, this is not needed if you are going to use dual carbs or FI!

5 of 5 Vintage Speed Stainless Steel Super Flow Muffler October 17, 2015
Reviewer: Daniel Lazaro from Marietta, GA United States
I bought this muffler over a year  and a half ago for my '59 Beetle running a 1956cc with dual carbed IDF 44. The quality of the muffler is beautiful and the welds are perfect. All connections are flanged and I did buy the heater box flange kit and that eliminated the stupid heater box dounut gaskets. I have driven over 7k miles on the new system and no leaks. Peashooter pipes are nicely center in the rear apron. It is louder then my quiet pack setup I had before.

The only downside so far is that I do hear the little "Tweet" through the peashooters at certain RPMs which I hoped would not happen. Overall I am happy with the system.
