Shift Rod Bushing Retaining Clip, 1949-79 T1, and 1950-66 T2, 111-701-263 is the little wire clip that keeps the Shift Rod Bushing from coming loose from the shift rod and the Shift Rod Hanger.
Shift Rod Boot, 1957-79 Type 2, 211-711-183B-211-167A keeps dust and dirt out, and grease in! These are almost always torn or simply missing completely!
Shift Rod Hanger (Shift Guide), All Beetle and Super Beetle, and 1961-65 Ghia, 111-701-255B is the hanger that is welded just below and behind the shifter, it holds the shift rod bushing, and the shift rod hangs in it, for the shifter ball to engage. This must be spot welded into place, but installation is a breeze. These are often destroyed when POs let the shift rod bushing disintegrate, yet they continue to drive the car that way.
