Time-Sert Thread Repair Insert, 8 x 1.25 x 11.7mm Long, 18121 is the best thread repair kit available. This size is typically used to repair intake and exhaust studs in cylinder heads, or the medium sized studs in the engine case. Inserts are sold per EACH.

You can also use this to do a slick upgrade to your upright engine; remove the generator stand studs and use these inserts, then use ALLEN BOLTS to hold the stand down! The advantage to this is you will have a stronger than stock repair, AND you won't have to lift the stand up OVER the studs if you ever have to R&R the cooling fan or alternator/generator! Remove the bolts and slide it straight back!

Time-Sert inserts are superior in every way to typical "Heli Coil" thread repair kits (which are usually wrapped wire, very weak and troublesome to install!).

Time-Sert inserts are solid, and also have a flared shoulder that prevents leakage, and locks the insert into place without excessive Loctite needed.

The repair process is to drill out the old threads, then use the shoulder cutting tool (To make room for the insert's shoulder on the top), tap the hole, then install the new insert. Hole will be repaired, and will be stronger and better than it was when it was new, due to the larger diameter holding power!

Time-Sert inserts are superior in every way to typical "Heli Coil" thread repair kits (which are usually wrapped wire, very weak and troublesome to install!).

The pilot on the tool holds the valve guide in the correct location while it is hammered or pressed into the head, and it works with aircooled and watercooled guides, as long as they are 8mm ID! We strongly recommend heating the head and freezing the guide prior to installation (then the guides almost drop right in!). Sold per each.

You can use dial indicators, feeler gauges or calipers, or even the calibrated screw that comes with it! Proper deck height is critical in preventing the piston from hitting valves, and in setting the proper compression ratio and quench for a good burn. This is a budget tool good for very occasional use. 1 Turn on the screw = 1mm (.040"), so 1/4 turn = .010" (.25mm). It is important not to over tighten the hold down bolts, which bows the cross plate.

Dual Valve Spring Guide Boss Cutting Tool Rental is a tool designed to cut down the valve guide bosses to make room for the inner springs on dual valve springs. You can use this in a drill press, mill, or even a hand drill if you are careful. Just make your cut so the valve spring surface is flat, then be sure to use a DUAL valve spring shim beneath the springs to protect the head from the ends of your valve springs. We include a 9mm shaft so you can also use this cutter on FI Type 1 and Type 4 exhaust guides!

One side of this tool cuts the boss for the inner spring on dual springs, the other side of it is used to trim the top of the valve guide down for more clearance to the retainer. If there is less than .060" clearance between the guide and retainer at full lift, you can bend push rods!

Copper head gaskets are the answer to deck height and head/cylinder sealing issues! These add to your engine's deck height, just like cylinder shims/spacers do, but these go between the cylinder and head. Between the 2 you'll have a LOT of adjustability! These fit the 96mm bore P&Cs, but many customers use them on 94mm bore engines, the copper gaskets are superior to the aluminum ones that come in the gasket sets, those blow out easily!
