OUR ONLINE CHECKOUT is CLOSED and we are NOT accepting any NEW orders at this time.

We are still fulfilling and shipping previously submitted and/or delayed order requests (as product availability allows) UNTIL NOVEMBER 15th 2022.

But after November 15th, all still pending backordered unshipped items will be automatically CANCELLED **(except for any special ordered drop-shipped or made/machined-to-order items).

Our ability to respond to emails is greatly hampered by being under-staffed during this downsize transition time. But we continue to endeavor to answer email inquiries as best we can. And we will continue responding to emails through until early March 2023 because we are wholly committed to resolving any other issues that may arise from previous sales. It is still UNCERTAIN, but we may re-open a substantially downsized version of our store again in the Spring of 2023.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding during this period of restructuring and/or closing. And a huge thank you to all of you whose support and loyalty we have been the beneficiary of over the 23 years that we have worked diligently to support the information and parts needs of the aircooled VW community!

Air Flow Meter, Rebuilt, 1983-85 VW Vanagon without California Emmisions (Federal), 025-906-301X-0280200038

Air Flow Meter, Rebuilt, 1983-85 VW Vanagon without California Emmisions (Federal), 025-906-301X-0280200038 are a critical component in the proper operation of the Bosch Fuel Injection system. Many "Mechanics" and Previous Owners have tried adjusting these, breaking them! These last a long time if left alone, but some people can't help themselves! These are the highest quality Rebuilt Air Flow Meters we have found, it has a $80 core charge that is added on to your order, that is refunded upon return of your old unit, returned within 30 days in the same box the rebuilt one comes in!

The easy was of visualizing what these are, is that these units measure the amount of air drawn into the engine, then send that measurement to the FI Computer. This measurement is the most critical determinant utilized by the Computer (ECU = Engine Control Unit) to optimize the air / fuel mixture.

Any malfunction of this device will result in rough idle, poor performance, reduced mileage, and eventually no start. It is very common for POs to have "futzed" with this when they had another problem as they were trying to figure it out, throwing it completely out of adjustment, and poor running and emissions failure are the result. One common "breakage is where the Flapper can bend, crack, or break, due to a backfire into the intake tract of the engine. Engine heat can also dry the flapper bearings, which causes it to jam or not move smoothly.

It is highly recommended that when installing a new (or rebuilt) Air Box, that you have a mechanic with a CO "sniffer" fine-tune the Air Bypass screw (or allen on some) that's off to the side for optimum running.
