PAIR of L3 Dual Port Cylinder Heads, 94mm BORE, 35 x 32mm Valves, With 51cc were run on the dyno for one of our long blocks. The engine was crated and shipped, and the trucking company damaged the engine. The engine was returned, and ONE of the heads had a bent fin, and one small irrelevant casting breakage. We would not hesitate to use these on our own personal engine, but we can't sell them as "new and perfect". After the engine was repaired and shipped, we ran these on another engine, and theyh work perfect. These 94mm bore heads were CC'd to 51cc. 51cc chambered heads would give you 9.3:1 on a 74x92mm engine, or 8.7:1 on a 69x92mm engine.

The HD Single valve springs work well for cams up to around 290 advertised duration (Engle 110, SCAT C-35, etc).

These heads are a good choice if you are building a mild engine with a non-stock cam, since you would need to buy new HD Springs and Chromoly Retainers, removing the stock stuff. Why pay for stuff you are going to take off and not use? Use these instead, they have that already! Big Valve Heads can only be successfully used with engines that have 1 1/2" or larger exhaust systems, which also means the stock heater boxes can NOT be kept! If you use stock heater boxes or 1 3/8" exhaust your engine will be difficult to tune, and will run much hotter from exhaust back pressure holding heat in the heads!
