  Deck Height Measuring Tool, Deluxe
Deck Height Measuring Tool, Deluxe

You can use dial indicators, feeler gauges or calipers, or even the calibrated screw that comes with it! Proper deck height is critical in preventing the piston from hitting valves, and in setting the proper compression ratio and quence for a good burn.

This does NOT fit Type 4 engines, only Type 1 based engines.

Most folks use a feeler gauge, but the stop-screw has a 1mm pitch, so one turn is .040"! 1/4 turn is .010", you can figure out the deck height without fancy tools!
