Bugpack Crank Gear Puller, Type 1 and Type 4 Crankshafts, 7017 is the IMPROVED version of the gear puller, which now removes the gears on Type 1 AND 4 cranks, depending on how you install the bottom shoe! Use a wrench with this tool, not a 20 ton press! For the smoothest operation, a ball-bearing swivel was engineered into this tools design and manufacturing.

SImply slip the gear shoe under the gear, and with a twist of a wrench, the gear is easily removed. Crankshaft gears can be bent beyond recognition if they are removed using pry bars, screwdrivers, or hammers. In fact, the only sure-fire way to pull the gear is with this tool. The pulling pressure is evenly distributed around the entire gear so it comes off evenly and smoothly without all the damaging effort.

Bought this tool a month ago, quality is good and the tool does exactly what it is suppose to do.

I am glad i bought it because i have several engines with cranks to disassemble.
