4340 Forged Chromoly Super Race Type 4 Crankshaft, 78mm Stroke, 2.0L Type 4 Rod Journals, 004-4378 is a high quality stroker crank for the Type 4 engine. Get a bunch more GRUNT with the extra swing of this 78mm crank, 7mm more stroke than the 2.0L! This works really well with our 5.158" H-beams.

If you are building a performance Type 4, these are THE way to go since type 4 crankshaft cores are so expensive and risky to use due to cracks in 30yo cranks!

This crankshaft is made from 4340 Forged Chromoly, the next best crankshaft is well over $1400! Crankshaft counter weights prevent the crankshaft from flexing into something that isn't straight. This crankshaft will rev as fast as your connecting rods and pistons will allow! The 78mm stroke is 7mm more than the 2.0L!This crank works best with stock 2.0L length rods of 5.158", H-beams are best, they are stronger and slimmer than rebuild 2.0L Rods.

This is a new crankshaft, so both Main and Rod Journals are STANDARD.

If you want to build a 78mm stroker, here's one way to go. Use the 5.138" rods in the related products section. Those rods are clearanced on the big end, it will fit this 78mm stroke in the stock case without clearancing! However, you'll need to shim the cylinder .130", we do this with a head gasket on top, AND a cylinder base shim (Combined to total ~.130"). This way the stock push rod tubes still work fine.
