4140 Forged Chromoly Type 1 Crankshaft, 82mm Stroke, Type 1 Rod Journals, 002-4182VW is a fantastic stroker crankshaft for budget builders. Made from 4140 Forged Chromoly, this will rev as fast as your connecting rods and pistons will allow! 4140 Cranks are great for applications under 200hp, at which point a 4340 crank should be used! The 82mm stroke is an excellent choice for type 1, type 2, and type 3 engines, it works best when used with 5.4" H-beam Rods, and "B" Piston and Cylinder Sets. This is a new crankshaft, so both Main and Rod Journals are STANDARD.

Case Clearancing for a 82mm crankshaft is not a huge deal, the bigger the bore the less clearancing you'll have! If you have a small bore, you may have some clearancing for the rod nuts, at the cylinder spigots, and a little bit at the roof of the case also.

Since "B" pistons are designed for 82mm Strokes and 5.4" Rods, we strongly recommend you use 5.4" H-beam rods for your build. Everything will fit together properly without excessive cylinder shimming, and the associated engine tin, exhaust fitment, and push rod length issues that come with it!
