Don't even think about getting a Chinese made VW carb. I've gone through three of them, and no matter what brand it written on it, you can tell they're all made in the same factory, and to the same level of "quality".
This is really good quality. You can tell it's been cast well, and out of a good material. Since it's bench-tested, that should mean that the little adjustment screw is already set, I think. I know mine was right. Of course, you have to adjust the big screw.
You really should be absolutely certain that you need a new carb before you drop 300 big ones on it.
Also note that if you have one of the giant Motorola alternators, this will catch slightly. All you need to do in that case is grind back the alternator housing slightly. It's plenty thick. Just be careful of those sparks.
In summary, this carb is second only to a real VW-Solex, but just make sure you actually have a carb problem before you buy.
